As a Member of the European Parliament, I work on issues of peace, security, and international order. Previously, I held senior positions for the United Nations and other international organizations for many years, primarily in conflict and crisis situations. My work combines practical experience with analytical engagement – ​​with the aim of understanding political contexts and developing viable solutions.

What I Do

Peace & Conflict Analysis

In my work, I analyze intra-state and international conflicts with a focus on their political, social, and institutional causes. This is based on practical experience in conflict and post-war societies.

International Security & Diplomacy

I analyze issues of international security, diplomacy, and conflict prevention from both an analytical and practical perspective. Experiences from negotiation and crisis contexts are directly integrated into my work.

United Nations & Multilateral Institutions

A central focus of my work is the role of the United Nations and multilateral institutions. In this context, I address their capabilities, limitations, and the need for reform in current international conflicts.

Statehood, Governance & Political Order

I analyze questions of statehood, political order, and governance, particularly in fragile and conflict-prone contexts. The focus is on the interplay between institutional structures and political reality.
