\u201eEuropean Parliament, today sent open letters to the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, calling for intra-European peace talks to achieve a negotiated solution to the war in Ukraine (see attachment).<\/p>\n

Given that the most serious and dangerous war on European soil since World War II entered its fifth year on February 24 without a peaceful solution, MEP von der Schulenburg described this as a disgrace for the entire political leadership of Europe. At the same time, he drew the attention of the European Union’s political leadership to a recent peace proposal that he published together with a group of prominent German personalities under the title \u201cEnding the war with a negotiated peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Von der Schulenburg also drew the attention of Ms. Kallas and Ms. Metsola to a recent article he co-authored with retired General Harald Kujat, in which they explain the diplomatic aspects of the peace proposal in more detail \u2013 \u201cEurope now needs the courage to make peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

In conclusion, Michael von der Schulenburg writes: \u201cThe pursuit of peace requires not only knowledge, but above all courage. I wish you this courage with all my heart. The people of Europe, no matter which side of the front line they find themselves on, will be grateful to you for it.<\/p>\n
